A price finance can explain
Investors usually ask what the token is for. On Ophanim the token is how measured computing work gets paid. The price is quoted in a shared unit, called the OCU, then converted into the token at the trial rate. A part of the fee is taken out of circulation, so demand for the token follows work clients actually buy.
The OCU is not a second currency, and it is not a promise to hold a price. It is a way of saying how much computing a job takes, the way a service contract states hours before it states money.
On the trial network the rate is published in advance, so partners and shareholders read the same ground. When the network widens, the rate will be reviewed. We are not opening a desk that swaps the token for machine hours in this release.
The part of the fee that stays in circulation goes to network operators and to agents whose work was recognised. The exact split will be shown in the economic table before any widening. It is not a figure we are using to raise money on a promise.
